1. Platform Role Disclaimer

ServiceBay is a digital marketplace and booking facilitator operated by G.U.D. Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) connecting motorists with independent workshops.

We do not:

  • Perform vehicle repairs or servicing
  • Guarantee workmanship quality
  • Act as a contracting party for workshop services

All service contracts are strictly between the motorist and the selected workshop.

2. Quotes & Pricing

  • Workshops independently generate all quotations
  • We are not responsible for pricing accuracy, omissions, or errors
  • Final pricing is determined by the workshop after acceptance
  • Motorists are responsible for reviewing all quote details before acceptance

3. Booking System

The platform facilitates a structured booking flow:

Quote Stage

  • Motorist submits service request
  • Selected workshops respond with quotations
  • Motorist may select a preferred quote or request booking

Unscheduled Stage

  • Motorist proposes preferred booking dates
  • Workshop may accept or propose alternatives

Scheduled Stage

  • Booking is confirmed once both parties agree on a date
  • Both parties receive confirmation notifications

We are not responsible for:

  • Workshop availability changes
  • Booking rescheduling disputes
  • Delays caused by workshops or motorists

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Both motorists and workshops may cancel or reschedule bookings
  • Notifications are sent to all parties
  • Rebooking requires mutual confirmation through the Platform

5. Payments

We do not process or hold payments for workshop services.

All payments are:

  • Made directly between motorist and workshop
  • Outside our financial responsibility
  • Subject to workshop payment terms

6. Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be responsible for any act or omission of an independent workshop, including vehicle damage, faulty workmanship, incorrect diagnosis, repair or maintenance, pricing errors, delays, missed bookings or disputes arising from services provided by a workshop.

We facilitate the connection, quotation and booking process only. We do not perform, supervise or warrant the automotive services provided by workshops through the Platform.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable South African law.

7. Communications

Users agree that we may send:

  • Quote notifications
  • Booking updates
  • Reminder messages
  • Review requests

By submitting a request for quotation (“RFQ”) through ServiceBay, users consent to us using the mobile number provided to send service-related notifications via WhatsApp, and other supported communication channels, such as email, regarding the status of their RFQ and, where applicable, any resulting booking, appointment, or related service updates. Users may opt out of WhatsApp communications at any time by replying “STOP”, or by contacting ServiceBay support.

8. Platform Integrity

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend workshops or users for misuse
  • Remove inaccurate listings or behaviour
  • Modify platform rules to maintain service integrity
